On December 10th, family, friends, Legionnaires, and community members gathered at the American Legion to honor Donald Rolfs on his 100th birthday.
Born in Iowa as the second of eight children, Don was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and served 14 months in the Philippines. After returning home, he worked on farms, at Rath Packing Company, and later mastered auto body repair. Don and his beloved wife Phyllis shared 70 years of marriage, raising two children and building a legacy that now includes three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Don enjoyed annual trips north for fishing and hunting. His milestone birthday was a joyful celebration of a remarkable life of service, family, and community.
