About the Red Wing American Legion

Since our charter on August 27, 1920; our American Legion Post has been welcoming Veterans and those serving from all branches of our Armed Forces. We also welcome the families of those who served. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our four pillars are: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth.

We want to thank our Red Wing community for its continued support. 100% of the money we raise is given back to the community. Help us continue scholarships and support of our children; give aid and assistance to our local Veterans in need and their families; support worthy community programs and projects by visiting our Post and participating in our events.

American Legion's Four Pillars

Veterans

National Security

National Security

As it has for decades, The American Legion continues to aggressively lobby for adequate funding of VA health care, timely access to facilities, fair rulings on benefit claims, and economic opportunities for those who have come home changed by their military experiences.

National Security

National Security

National Security

The National Security program maintains and promotes a strong national defense by strengthening and supporting military servicemembers and their families.

Americanism

National Security

Children & Youth

Promote an understanding and appreciation of American government, the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship, and activity in the American way of life through youth activities, community service, instruction of prospective citizens and legal immigrants, education and educational facilities, and protection of the U.S. flag from physical desecration

Children & Youth

National Security

Children & Youth

The American Legion’s Children & Youth pillar is guided by three main objectives: strengthen the family unit, support organizations that help children in need, and provide communities with well-rounded programs to provide hope and opportunity for young people facing difficult challenges.
